Why it matters
Checking the company behind your software
EasyTaskr is a product of Tech Me Today Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 15917255 and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under ZB944663. You can check both on the public registers in a few minutes, using the numbers above.
Why check the company behind your software?
Because your till, your stock and the record of who owes you will live on it. Before you move a business onto any system, it is worth knowing who is legally responsible for it, where they are registered, and how to reach them. The details above are the ones that matter, and each one can be checked on a public register in a few minutes, without taking our word for anything. It also helps when your own customers, a bank or an auditor ask which systems hold your records and who runs them.
What does each registered detail mean?
Each line on this page is a fact from a public register. This is what it tells you:
| Detail | What it means for you | Where to check it |
|---|---|---|
| Registered name: Tech Me Today Ltd | The legal entity you contract with when you use EasyTaskr | Companies House |
| Trading as: EasyTaskr | The product name you see on screen and in emails | This page and the terms |
| Company number: 15917255 | The unique number that identifies the company on the UK register, and never changes | Companies House |
| Registered in England and Wales | Which part of the UK the company is registered in | Companies House |
| Private limited company | A company owned by shareholders whose liability is limited, which must file accounts and an annual confirmation | Companies House |
| Incorporated 27 August 2024 | The date the company was formed | Companies House |
| Nature of business: 62012 | The standard industrial classification for business and domestic software development | Companies House |
| ICO registration: ZB944663 | The company has registered with the UK's data protection regulator | ICO register |
Step by step: checking us on the public registers
You do not need an account on either register. This takes about five minutes.
- Open Companies House. Use the link at the top of this page, or go to the Companies House search service and search for 15917255. Searching by number is safer than searching by name, because names can be similar.
- Check the name and number match. The record should show TECH ME TODAY LTD with company number 15917255. Companies House prints names in capitals.
- Check the status. An active company shows as Active. Anything else, such as a proposal to strike off, is worth asking any supplier about.
- Check the registered office. It should match the registered office shown on this page.
- Open the filing history. It lists the documents the company has filed, such as accounts and confirmation statements, with their dates.
- Look at the people tab. It lists the company's officers and the people with significant control, as the company has filed them.
- Open the ICO register. Use the ICO link at the top of this page, or search the Information Commissioner's Office register of fee payers for ZB944663.
- Check the ICO entry. It should show Tech Me Today Ltd as the organisation, with the registration number above.
- Keep a note. Write down the date you checked. If your own customers or an auditor ever ask how you chose your software supplier, you have the answer.
What does the ICO registration mean?
Organisations that handle personal data in the UK generally have to pay a data protection fee to the Information Commissioner's Office, and the ICO publishes a register of those that have. Being on the register shows the company has registered with the regulator; it is not a certificate or an award.
How personal data is handled day to day is set out in the privacy policy. In short, there are two different roles:
- For your own account, such as your name, email and how you use EasyTaskr, the data is handled by Tech Me Today Ltd under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- For the records your business keeps about its own customers and staff, your business decides how they are used, and we act only on its instructions. The data is never sold and never used for advertising.
That second point matters when you choose software. Your customer list, prices and sales history belong to your business, and the privacy policy lists every provider we use, what each one is for and how long data is kept.
Which email should you use?
Sending to the right address gets the right person first time:
- info@easytaskr.com for general questions about the company and EasyTaskr.
- support@easytaskr.com for help with an account. If you are already signed in, the help button in the app reaches the same people.
- support@easytaskr.com, with "Security" in the subject, to report a security issue, as described on the security page.
- For personal data and privacy requests, use the contact given in the privacy policy.
What else should you check before choosing a supplier?
The registers tell you who you are dealing with. They do not tell you whether the software suits your business. A few questions are worth asking any supplier, including us:
- Can I export my data? You should be able to take your records out, for example as CSV, whenever you want.
- Where is the data hosted, and how is it backed up? The security page sets this out for EasyTaskr.
- Who can see what? Staff should see only what their role needs.
- What does it not do? EasyTaskr works out VAT on every line and shows it on invoices and receipts, but it does not submit VAT returns; your accountant or your filing software does that.
- What happens when the internet drops? On EasyTaskr the till keeps taking sales and sends them when the connection is back.
- How is it kept up to date? EasyTaskr runs in the browser, so there is nothing to update at the counter, and the optional desktop app installs new versions by itself.
- Can I see it working on my own trade first? A guided tour or a version set up with your own product list tells you more than any brochure.
Our guide on how to choose a POS system turns these into a full checklist, and POS vs ERP explains when a till alone is enough and when you need one connected system.
